Monday review of new pieces of jewellery

Should I list these new pieces?

(I'm linking up with Mellow Yellow Monday #90, Smiling Sally's Blue Monday and The Work of the Poet's Ruby Tuesday.)

These are stretch bracelets in the ususal fall colours, yellow-orange-red. You can were several on your wrist or...

Or just one together with a watch or alone. This first patteren has a lot of different coloured glass beads in it. But I am also working on simpler patterns with one predominate colour, such as this yellow stretch bracelet:

Another innovation is that I am stringing two sizes of glass seed beads (size 6 & size 8) to get a more varied texture in even one-coloured designs such as this entirely cobalt blue stretch bracelet:

The most important fall colour this year is purple.

You have seen my latest 'skinny' stretch bracelets that I have started to make thanks to my friend Britt-Marie, who suggested that I make something simple for everyday use.
But, I even make 'chunkier' bracelets. Here are two lovely purple stretch bracelets made up of beautiful purple and silver lampwork glass beads:

Ruby Tuesday - More red plant-inspired jewellery ! (Part II)

For last week's Ruby Tuesday I showed a red and green beaded necklace (click here to see it again) that I made to look a little bit like rose hips. This week I will continue to show some of my efforts to make plant-inspired jewellery.















Here is a bracelet made with an antiqued brass chain with 10mm links with the same bright red beads from India that I used for last week's necklace.

But instead of stringing the red beads and glass leaves in a row, the "rose hips" hang individually more like the way they do from branches of a rose bush.

This time I am using olive green Czech pressed glass leaf beads to hang on the bracelet as charms.

Making bracelets is a real challange, because like rings, they are constantly seen by the wearer herself. Maybe this is why I began making necklaces. But I am that glad I have finally started to make bracelets. It's fun!

We can call this is a work in progress. Again, this is a piece that I have not yet listed in a shop. Should I make it heavier with more leaves and rose hips or should I just leave it as it is? I have lots of beautiful chain and beads so I could make several versions.

Thursday's plant-watch: Elderberries

You may remember how green the elderberries [sv. = fläder, lat. Sambucus nigra] were in September.

Most berries look like beads and pearls, so I am looking for sources of inspiration for jewellery here.

See the change in colour? It's November now and the berries themselves are a very dark, blackish, blueish purple.

The birds eat the berries or they fall off, so the reddish stems are more visiable.

Is it possible to do something with these colours or am I being too literal?

Well, we'll see a little later what I do with this!

Some of the last flowers blooming before the final killer frost

As I have mentioned several times before, we have a lovely garden.

But I am always finding interesting plants along our neighbors' fence.

These bright red-orange flowers looked like this about a week or so ago. I don't know what they are called. If anyone can tell me what their name is in English, Latin or Swedish, I would be very grateful. According to Jakill from Jean's Musings, these flowers are nasturtiums. Yes they were this bright! I will miss the lovely greens and bright reds, oranges and pinks of spring and summer.

On the other hand, I can make jewellery as cheery as summer-flowers all fall and winter.

Summer is drawing to a close, here in Sweden. But there are still some roses left in the garden! Look at these Peace roses. They are so incredibly orange-red in colour!
